    1. Just an idea (not complaint) bring back Chuck Leavell for the next studio album - just listening to High Falls the other day - outstanding work done by Chuck. Have him guest artist on the disc a song or two or three and change the guitar tour de force mojo up a bit.

  6. Through out the years I always had the fortune to hold a fairly good conversation with you. I was the guy who bought that Red 335 Gibson from you all while you all were in Switzerland back in summer of 1968. Since I befriended Jim "Fuzzy" Land who played drums in a short lived band called Heater. I have recorded with Jim Essery as a bassist in his band back in 1994. And Chip Miller invited me to perform in his resort band two years before he passed away. Now I am sixty and I am seeing the young man in me slowly disappearing. I really thought there would be more to do, but hell everyone is going away for good. I am glad to see that you know how to take care of your self. Thank for talking to me throughout the years. 8. Hey Butch,

Can't wait to see ya at the Beacon. Three requests:

    1. Can you post that picture with all your mug shots in a higher quality form that can be printed. I would love to have that in a poster. Maybe just work up a poster of it for the show? That picture, and and the incredible story you wrote, capture something essential about life and the band.

    2. How about playing something from Enlightened Rogues -- maybe that album's too Dickey so you have it out of the rotation?

    3. Speaking of which, if he's in good shape, how about bringing Dickey out to play with the band at the Beacon. I'm sure a lot of bad shit went down, but hell, they say time heals all wounds, and I hope it's time to let bygones be bygones.

Looking forward to the Moogis relaunch ...

  10. Thanks, Mr. Trucks, for taking the time to write the stories about the band. They are a hoot to read. I have been a fan since the all time greatest live performance from the Fillmore was released and also enjoy the recent live releases of the orignal line up. I have been lucky enough to see y'all at Oak Mt. in Pelham, Ala 3 times a few years ago. Thanks again and keep writing!

  14. My deepest condolences to the Trucks family, and all of the Allman Brothers Band members and their families, from a fan since I was a teenager. I am 61 now and the band's music still moves me as no other music does. There will never be another Freight Train. Rest in peace Butch.
