  1. really want to attend this. toured with a phenomenal clarinetist from poland through france and the great louis sclavis held one of these music seminars in montpelier. i grew up listening to mr. trucks, as well as dannie richmond and mingus, elvin, miles, and eric dolphy. the slip and frogwings are brilliant as well. check out a band called ronald shannon jackson and the decoding society. shannon jackson had played with albert ayler and ornette coleman. he formed this band with vernon reid ( pre living colour) melvin gibbs on fretted bass and rev. bruce johnson on fretless bass! two drummers? check out the double bassists! seriously have learned so much from mr. trucks and mr. burbridge. god bless. r.

  2. guess we all felt relief after obama's win. but now some of us must surely be shuddering at the thought of his upcoming meeting/lunch/idea pitching forum to take place later this week. could we have all been blind to the possibility of these factions having been in cahoots? of course i'm talking about his meeting with mr. romney. just joking naturally, but still....

  4. Butch, I think this is great and hope that you continue to offer this type of instruction and interaction for years to come. It's a great way for musicians and fans to interact with their musical heroes and learn from the best. hope it goes swimmingly.

  5. recently read an old article about tom dowd. in it he stated that butch trucks was " an amazing drummer, capable of playing melody, harmony, and rhythm." very high praise indeed! just thought you should know about that.

  6. I think the aforementioned article was in international musician and recording world. Which unfortunately, went out of print in 1991.
